Headache is the primary complaint of about 10% of chiropractic patients. There are many types of headaches ranging from those of a sinister cause, such as a brain tumor. However, the great majority of headaches are “benign” and generally are “Migraine”, “Tension-type” and “Cervicogenic” in nature.

When the bones of the neck are misaligned, the muscles of the neck are affected. There are links (connective tissue) between the covering of the brain to the muscles resulting in headaches. Medications such as aspirin can cover up the symptoms of headaches, but they do not correct the underlying structural cause. Many people find relief with chiropractic care. If a thorough examination of the neck reveals misalignments, loss of range of motion or decreased spinal curves, chiropractic care  should be considered.
